今天查了下http://websters.yourdictionary.com/，和Tbbt（https://www.pdawiki.com/forum/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=13935）做出来的截图对照了下，发现YourDictionary网站上已经更新到Webster's New World College Dictionary 5th Editon，而且AHD也更新到5版了 cracode 发表于 2015-5-20 20:40

两个pdb文件是离线数据，分别改名为：
dicts.mobisystems.com.cgi-bin.pdb.file=Webster.Webster_College_Dictionary2015.pdb
dicts.mobisystems.com.cgi-bin.pdb.file=Webster.Webster_Rogets_A-Z_Thesaurus.pdb

这家公司有些历史了，他们的PDB格式应该和Palm的PDB格式有些渊源，不过现在肯定是不一样了。
不用离线数据包，直接搜索查询，通过抓包，发现服务器返回/本地缓存的也是一个Header和N个Records，但文件头已经不符合原始PDB格式（http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PDB_%28Palm_OS%29）规范了。
忘记在哪里看到的了，PDB应该是个Virtual File System，程序既支持读取单个数据文件 dicts.mobisystems.com.cgi-bin.pdb.file=Webster.Webster_College_Dictionary2015.pdb，也支持在同名的文件夹里解包开，像 Header、Record_1、Record_2、... 这样

用 python 和 lxml 不难处理，遍历 <div class="row main-row"> 的children，找到<a name="websters" class="entry_anchor"></a>，从这开始到下一个<hr>为止，就是。 cracode 发表于 2015-9-28 22:34

是的，没有词性标注是硬伤，而且派生词也没有。。。如果文本质量能再好一点，本人就要出手了。。。

Webster's New World也关闭了Cleveland,Ohio State的词典部门。 我的纸质版是第3版的，觉得这本词典还是有自己的特色的。
