最适合通读的英语词典是？

我不禁陷入了思考，最适合通读的英语词典是哪部呢？
目前我的答案是 LDOCE {:4_105:} 主要原因朗文的例句发音啊，不仅通读，还要通听。
要我選我不喜歡讀柯林斯词典，滿眼都是if you....,if you.....的 ,看着都累人 我的感觉是柯林斯的东西是精确掌握一个词的meaning和usage的最佳工具，不仅很大程度解决了recognition的问题，更为重要的是你能知道how to use it，这个别的词典或工具暂时没看出来能起到这样的作用。collins这个出版社是非常有特点的，带有cobuild这个商标的东西往往都是精品中的精品。 kyletruman 发表于 2016-5-21 23:39
我选"新牛津双解"
我觉得要通读，就不要选有汉字的了，要读就读英英的，当然，遇到不理解的地方，求助双解是不错的选择。

另外少年，《新牛津英汉双解大词典》的蓝本（英文部分）就是 Oxford Dictionary of English （ODE）， http://www.oxforddictionaries.com/ 在线版（UK & World English）主体部分就是 Oxford Dictionary of English，然而你在这个帖子 [英-英] 【求解惑】OED这两个在线辞典有何关系？ https://pdawiki.com/forum/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=16824，对 ODE 在线版英英释义评价不是正面的，但是这里你又觉得通读其双解版本是个不错的选择？{:4_109:}
解释最多最全的是www.oed.com (在这个网站查词第一步是点击网页左上角的home, 不然你找很久都找不到从何处开始search[点home查词时灵时不灵的])；
另一个是http://www.oxforddictionaries.com/(这个网站的解释没有上面那个网站全，bt_4baidu大神和tsiank大神好像是从这个网站上抓的数据[我刚把他们制作的词典同这个网站上的数据做了对比]。但是我感觉从这个网站抓数据意义不大，这个网站的英英释义没有多大特色。目前不知有没有大神从www.oed.com上抓数据呢？)
举个例子来说吧，在以上两个网站同时查high，在www.oed.com上查的到high做名词时有drugs的意思，可是在http://www.oxforddictionaries.com/ 却找不到。
谁能告诉我上面那两个网站之间究竟有何关系？怎么它们搜出来的结果有些不同呢？

我觉得 ODE 英文释义相当有特色， 核心义项 + 次义项，这种做法是近百年来英语词典释义独一无二的创新，领先其他同级别词典一个时代，且在线版内容丰富、修订积极、与时俱进，同级别词典中，它称第一，没人敢称第二了吧。

至于从 www.oed.com 抓数据，这工作量是相当相当大的， OED3 仍在编纂中，保守估计 2037 年才能编完，在线版每三个月一次重大更新，很可能一遍数据还没抓完，人家又更新了无数内容。

ODE 侧重实用，OED 更像是人类在炫耀、在示威，为英语单词做编年史。假如有外星人来访，人类能拿得出手的体现人类文明语言成就、力量的作品，那肯定就是 OED 。

这部词典我买了三本，从头到尾看过一遍，现在仍然爱不释手。 就单词内容可读性，趣味性而言，可试试 Waverley Pictorial Dictionary：
