【你真的不知道！】词典的本质
词典的本质就是你与编者的语言知识的差，词典的条目就那些，搭配也就那些，现代汉语词典你会这么好奇么？在国外，老外跟你的感受一样。拥有多个词典就是欠的知识太多了，差距。词典的本质就是语言差距。（网友经常会说多买些装装X, 其实就是树立下信心）
我们在阅读欧美小说时经常翻词典而不是偶尔翻一下，多累！简直要哭晕。这就是差距。可悲。
好好学习吧！ 这点我很不同意，汉语和英语很不一样，且不说两者的词汇量有天壤之别（英语是公认词汇量最大的语言），最重要的是汉语的特点是以字组词，只要认识一定数量的字，绝大多数的词“望文生义”即可获得对其的理解，然英语则完全不是这样，绝大多数情况下你望文生不了意，必须借助词典，这个特点对于英美本国人士同样如此，他们是需要经常甚至是每日查词典的，这个很多作家在很多写作书中已有阐释。绝对不是什么知识的差距这么简单的问题。 看看SAT和GRE考核的内容也可窥一斑而知全豹，这简直就是在考察英语嘛。 我拥有很多英语词典（我并非用来装xx，我的确觉得是有必要的），但我一部汉语词典都没有，我没有觉得我有这个需要。我是医学方面的博士，至少在我从事的工作和学习、生活中，我真没觉得缺一本汉语词典对我会带来困扰或不便。当然对于其他如学中文或中医的朋友则应该不是这样。 以我一个医生的角度来看：楼主你真的需要看看心理医生，你有很严重的偏执型人格障碍，不是开玩笑。 本帖最后由 lxchen2001 于 2016-9-3 06:37 编辑

我想补充几句：差距往往不是SAT/GRE/GMAT，而是一些基础的词汇，为何？
母语英语的词汇量调查显示：
8岁小孩 词汇量1万；16岁少年 2万；而大部分SAT/GRE/GMAT的词汇出现在2-3万词汇量的范围。
掌握了SAT/GRE词汇, 并不代表掌握了英语母语者已经掌握的前2万。这就是为何不少人考了SAT/GRE，但读小说还是很困难。而没读过什么书的美国人，反而能(快速)读下来。
