偶遇牛高“与时俱进”一例，挺有意思的。见 famously 词条

牛津高阶双解 7 和 8：

Some newspapers, most famously the New York Times, refuse to print the word Ms. 有些报纸，其中最著名的是《纽约时报》，拒不刊用 Ms 这个词。

牛津高阶英文 9：

Some newspapers, most famously the New York Times, refused to print the word Ms.

原来《纽约时报》自从 1986 年 6 月 20 日开始，就已经放开允许使用 Ms. 这个称呼了，以前都必须问清楚女性被访者是 Mrs. 还是 Miss. 所以牛高 9 开始就把 refuse 改成了过去式 refused。
