刚发现一个牛津双解第二版 中的一个翻译错误！
注意 rake over coals 这个表达的翻译：重新忆起最易忘掉的往事。这个翻译是错误的。正确的意思应该是：反复的提起某些早应该忘掉的事情。
实际我们再看一下学习性词典的释义，就更容易理解这条翻译错在哪里了。 重点应该是“重新忆起最易忘掉的往事”当中的“最易”翻译得不当。
best 在这儿应该译作“最该，最好，最应”。

作画的最佳时间是白天。

另，查找的过程当中很少看到例句有写作 rake over coals，一般都写作 rake over old coals, rake over the coals/ashes...

你说的那个表criticize是
rake/drag/haul sb over the coals
区别只在于这个宾语somebody。

但我查找的过程发现以下是正确的
rake over the past
rake over coals
rake over old coals
rake over the ashes,(但没有发现有rake over THE coals)
但是表criticize的表达是 rake/haul/drag sb over THE coals, 这个表达中是一定要有the的。
