relative to sth 怎么理解
经济学人 <The world is losing the war against climate change>Three years after countries vowed in Paris to keep warming “well below” 2°C relative to pre-industrial levels, greenhouse-gas emissions are up again.
这里的relative to sth 是翻译成 “跟 2°C 相关” 么？ relative本来是个形容词，但是在实际语言中，relative to往往起状语的作用（“与…相对而言”或“就…而言”），并不专门修饰一个名词。【例如】consult a person relative to the subject就该问题向某人咨询 / Iran is now stronger relative to the United States than it was on the eve of the Iraq war. (Foreign Affairs, Vol. 85, No. 4, July/Aug., 2006, p. 69) 相对于美国而言，伊朗现在比伊拉克战争前夕时地位更强有力了。/ The majority feels the US spends too much on UN dues, relative to other major countries. However, this feeling appears to be based largely on misperceptions. When informed about what portion of UN dues the US pays, relative to other countries, and how it is set, the majority finds it appropriate. 大部分人觉得美国花在联合国经费上的开支比起其他主要国家来未免太大。但是这种感觉看来大多出自误解。大多数人一知道了美国在联合国经费当中同其他国家相比支付的份额以及其核定方式，就觉得这是恰当的。
relative 表达「相对于」，这个意思英汉词典里面都没有啦？
不是和2℃相关，而是相对于（relative to）工业化之前的水平（ pre-industrial levels）低2℃多…… 哦， 我以为是 ”跟什么有关的“， eg.. the facts relative to this case
然后就觉得 “工业前的2°C “ 理解不了
原来它是 ”比较“ 的意思

另外，请把你给的每个例子relative to后面是什么状语标出，我好加分(+4浮云+200米) 而是相对于（relative to）工业化之前的水平（ pre-industrial levels）低2℃多……
有两点可能需要注意。
1. “Well below”是“远低于”或者“显著低于”。
2. “远低于”工业化之前的，不是“温度”本身，而是“warming”，即“暖化程度”或“温度上身幅度”。
