感觉这样的释义写的有问题

从这个句子的结构来看，means的主语是the adjective audacious，既然audacious本身是形容词性，那么在解释这个词的时候，也只能以形容词性的表达方式来释义，而daring, boldness, courage这个三个词都是名词。这样的释义方式是不对的。
我感觉作者其实是想说audacia 的意思是 daring, boldness, courage, 如果真是这样，那也不能用and来连接了，只能改成定语从句，

这个应该是没有问题的，这个词，虽然是形容词，但是在词源中，它首先是一个“词”，所以可以做主语，然后用后面的名词给出解释。 同意 喝杯好9。
只不过现实中，经常有作者不顾 这些 小 问题
