ABBREVIATION
1 (in the US) Investment Retirement Account（美国）个人退休账户

Investment 应为Individual

你的链接文章中还有一句 The 401(k) plan is another form of investment retirement account
我的理解是，investment retirement account是一个通称而非专用名词，IRA和401(k)都是investment retirement account的一种。
IRA也许老美日常会理解为上述两种说法中的某一种、存在误用混用。但IRA是法律定义的特指Individual Retirement Account，是个专用名词，词典还是应该以法律中的表述为准。
