原句：The witness went on the witness standto be questioned by the prosecution

我自己的句型分解是 the witness是主语，went on是动词，the witness stand是宾语，by the prosecution是修饰语，我就不太清楚 to be questioned 充当什么成分

"To be questioned" 是否可以理解为 动词不定式 做非谓语 表示目的。
表明目击证人走上证人席等待被询问。

语句也可调整为：
To be questioned by the prosecution the witness went on the witness stand.
