适合阅读的英语词典讨论

最近后知后觉的发现了几本适合阅读的词典，像朗文多功能分类还有LLA。

还购买了韦氏图片词典和麦克米伦儿童词典，发现也都很适合随手翻一翻。

不知道大家还有没有别的什么适合翻阅的英语辞书推荐呢？

本人真的认真读过上千页的词典从A读到Z，能告诉你的是其乐趣不足为外人道也。
读词典有个基本要求，你至少认识其中的一半词条。最理想的状态是一部收入10万词条的词典，其中你认识5万（不是彻底掌握，这个没人做到。一部分是掌握的（两三万吧）而另一部分是多少见过面，一经介绍，就说：“原来是你啊”的那种点头之交。）要求是例句、惯用法要尽可能多收。最好是双语词典，其中一种语言你几乎毫无障碍，这样可以印证你理解的对错。
如果你的水准低于这个要求，只看认识的单词的词条就好了。

I am sure many dictionaries fit the bill here. For English learners, browsing through a good dictionary is like reading a good book. Guess that's why PDAwiki has been held in high esteem among learners since day one.

如果【适合阅读、适合翻阅】指的是随便翻，随手翻，那就多了去了，林语堂推荐过COD，钱锺书读过韦氏unabridged

I use only E-dictionaries on E-ink readers/smartphones.:DThat way I can set the font size the way I please. You should give it a thought.

Collins双解（最厚的绿皮的那本）最为适合，但不要什么cobild高级，高级学习之类的。

是啊，感觉背单词+读词典真是一个非常高效的学习手段了。

最大的缺点就是枯燥了，要是有一些收词量4万左右还不按字母顺序排列的词典那就再适合不过了。

不过我还没发现有这种，朗文分类和LLA收词量都有些小了。

有什么合适的欢迎大佬们推荐啊。

假如自身水平够又有闲暇的时间韦氏unabriged真是个极好的选择了。

倒是COD真没感觉有啥特点，名字叫简明解释还那么啰嗦，不知道为啥有那么多人推荐。

感谢推荐。

就是这个词典只有16400个条目，看简介每个单词也只有跟简单的中文解释。

水平稍好些的英语学习者的单词量都应该覆盖这16400了，可能比较适合初学者吧。

for the purpose of browsing, I think dead-tree dictionaries are the best and most in line with the reading habits of most people.
besides, they are not hard on the eyes.

You should try E-ink readers. Just as eye-friendly as paper books.

MDict works fine on Hisense A5 (A5 pro), for example.

you prefer e-ink readers, I prefer paper dictionaries, so let us agree to each his own, haha

这本字典包括专有名词也只有1.6万次，比一些GRE词汇书上的词还少，我常看，不过不是大字本，大字本不方便
