The Longman Dictionary of Contemporary English 5th Edition (LDOCE 5) is probably the best dictionary for English learners. Unfortunately, the software version of the LDOCE is rather unpleasant to use. It is very slow and has problems with basic features like scrolling and copying text. That's why I created the LDOCE5 Viewer — a fast, user-friendly alternative that will make you want to look up words!

" e+ J/ X  @- b6 }$ F7 jNo stupid limitations: Full support for mousewheels and trackpads. You can resize the window however you want. Copying works as you expect it to work (including phonetic transcriptions).
No useless junk on the screen: Just the search box, search results and the entry you’re looking at. The entry layout is very readable, by the way.
No pointless clicking around: No need to click on the search box, just start typing a new word at any moment. Use your arrow keys to switch between different meanings of the same word.
Very complete search: It will find everything that includes your search phrase: headwords, inflected forms, collocations, phrasal verbs, idioms, etc. If it’s in the LDOCE, it will find it. Instantly.

E( b9 JIt supports all the content in the original LDOCE: phonetic transcriptions, word recordings, sentence recordings, additional examples, collocations, grammar boxes, thesaurus boxes, the Activator thesaurus, pictures. 下載了網上提供的朗文英英5的數據光盤鏡像文件，加載到虛擬光驅里，點擊Setup進行完全安裝，安裝完成后再安裝 LDOCE5 Viewer。

LDOCE5 Viewer會自動找到安裝的朗文英英5數據，軟件會進行數據重建，大概需要幾分鐘的時間，最后就可以使用了。

本人在Win XP 上测试结果（简单测试）如下：
优点：滚动条上下滚动方便、快捷。
缺点：发音（无论是单词还是句子）卡顿、不清晰（不如原版发音）

没有任何限制，完全支持鼠标滚轮和触摸板，并且，你可以任意调整要想的窗口大小。窗口上没有无用的垃圾，只是搜索框，搜索结果和您正在查看的条目，条目布局比较有可读性的。程序当前时，你不需要点击搜索框，只是在任何时候键入一个新的单词就可以查询。而且可以使用箭头键在同一个词的不同含义之间切换。程序包含非常完整的搜索，它会找到包括您的搜索短语：headwords，inflected表单，collocations，短语动词，成语等等。如果它在LDOCE，它会即刻找到它。
该程序支持原版LDOCE5 DVD光盘中的所有内容，包含原版的语音。因此，发音不清晰，那不是软件的问题，此软件是完全使用正版光盘中的语音数据，应该不会出现你的问题。

6 d1 a0 {2 Y* P; x, [, e我购买了2本该正版词典。安装后用的非常不方便，就用了破解启动文件——快捷、方便，其他一概未变，仅此而已。
