看到一个 a+复数 的句子,有点不解

will be taking an incredible three and a half strideS per second

这句使用了一个a+复数名词的形式。请问应该怎么理解呢?

The "correct" form is:
one hour and a half
a mile and a half
one ounce and a quarter

However, in normal English usage, native speakers often say:
one and a half hours
one and a half miles
one and a quarter ounces
Ref
所以这里是 (three and a half) stides

语言是如此复杂,以至于几乎每一条语法“规则”都有例外, 或者说简单的规则都有例外。

不定冠词A(N) 一般至于单数可数名词连用,但是有时候是可以与复数可数名词连用的。

I'm a good twenty years younger than my wife. [ MY DREAM, oh God bless me]
I ate a good three hefty steaks this morning.】
I took a marvelous eighty points in the game.
They allowed us only a skimpy two days of vacation.
(I gave her another twenty minutes to finish her typing.)
...an incredible three and a half strides...

形式:a(n) + adjective + number + plural nouns
意义:这种用法多多少少有强调、惊叹的意思。强调、惊叹的意思表现在那个形容词上面,而强调、惊叹的原因是那个数字。

【注:a good twenty/three... 中的good是个强调词(又如 a good many... 参见nice), 与上列其他的例子又有所不同,因此其后的名词前面仍可以有形容词,这个形容词才对应于上述“强调、惊叹的意思”所表现在的“那个形容词” , 例如上举‘’hefty‘’.】

这种用法虽说是“例外”,但也不算很罕见。

Incidently, I'm afraid that there is a mistake in one of the sentences in the picture: the 'unawares' should have been 'unaware'.

a + 速度
three and a half strideS per second指的是速度每秒3.5步,看作整体。
个人理解。

三个半,有什么问题?

三年半怎么说?
三米半怎么说?

3.5, 在英语中大于一的都要复数~
