应该是拟人。police dogs就是相当于狗做police，狗督察把德国牧羊犬Plunger和便衣猎犬Plod派去调查案子。这里的plunger和plod的姓名都对应它们的处事方式。。。 The chief of police dogs assigned to the case a German shepherd named Plunger and a plainclothes bloodhound named Plod.
