求教动词分词的语法成分问题
There is nothing better than a great American meal and a cold drink celebrating the Fourth of July.出处是一个网站的作文。请问这句话中的celebrating the Fourth of July表达的是什么意思以及逻辑关系，celebrating的主语不是American meal and a cold drink，网上资料说要加逻辑主语。

句子分不清，取其主干来看就好
there's nothing to do/for doing应该都没有问题。
原句可以理解为省略了for，但并不规范，不建议在国内作文中使用。 When/For celebrating the Fourth of July, there is nothing better than a great American meal and a cold drink.

1. 这是书面用法吗，我是在某不知名美籍教授做的个人网站上看到的范文，能用在作文写作上吗。
2. 另外省略这些逻辑连词让人不能快速准确的理解意思，就像中文说“美餐和冷饮是最好的庆祝七月四号”。而且好像分词短语作为分句，有好多种不同的逻辑关系含义，要是自己造句的话真不知道怎么用，生怕表达的意思不是自己想要表达的。 howieee 发表于 2021-2-4 23:03

语法上讲，ing分词作时间状语没问题。
是否书面，这我解答不了。
7-4的cold drink和平时的cold drink有何不同？所以这里后置定语的分析应该不对。 tocelebrate = celebrating
