阳光照射进来，沐浴着窗边的花盆植物，和睡在椅子上的猫。
去掉修饰成分，把这句话简化一下，变成：The sun shone in on the……plants ……and the cat……，原句结构便一目了然：plants和cat是并列成分，作介词on的宾语；sleeping是动名词，作cat的定语。
shine in 照射进来，此处in是副词，不能误解为介词 ，以免引起困惑。例：Open up your curtains and let the sun shine in! 哈哈，感谢各位老师，这下明白了…… 这儿的高人实在太多了，这么小儿科的问题都不好意思再问了…… 哇塞~这里的高人真的太多了！一句话可以让人受教很多！ 本帖最后由 lewpad 于 2022-1-12 08:57 编辑
The sun shone in on the flowering pot plants by the window, and the cat sleeping in a chair. 其实是被and的前面的逗号迷惑了，这个句子其实写得不好，and前面的逗号不该有，and后面要加on，这样整个句子结构才清晰，不会让读者产生疑惑，不会写好句子的作家不是好版主。
sleeping是现在分词，做后置定语，不是动名词或什么状语。句子的意思是阳光照在正在睡觉的猫身上，而不是照在猫的睡觉上，逻辑上不通。如果是动名词是指猫在睡觉这件事，而不是猫本身。
