    It may mean "million" here.
    5 \$ n) f6 W0 {. B, n0 z) O* Z0 a6 B; C( e6 l; Y
    Sometimes English speakers will say "Ok, I'll give you 5g for that car"; g meaning "grand", slang for 1,000; so 5G is 5,000 dollars.  But I wouldn't say it's common to say "5m perday" for "5 million per day". It's perfectly understandable when you have read the entire context, though.

    看了一下前后文,虽然数字很吓人,不过感觉5m a day就是说单日新增500w的意思。

    ( f. b+ h- y0 z( o2 ybut at times one can still not make head or tail of it, no matter how many times one reads it.& @3 S1 P8 M5 Z3 P2 z# _0 u; R
    this is the case for some people at least. hahaha

    + Y) _2 s  S! FI must admit I was a bit surprised that such abbreviation could appear in a piece of writing that is supposed to be formal. The English language is deteriorating for sure, so is journalism nowadays. Everything is becoming fastfood-ish. 6 ]8 \; \# c3 Q+ a

    2 R& k4 A" G: @/ A% T: WBe that as it may, I would suggest that we as learners should stick to our ground and try our best o use formal and proper English; the least of that are spellings and punctuation marks.
