《新世纪英汉大词典》contingent词条最大的一个缺点，个人认为，是没有明确给出最常见的形容词解释“可能的”（possible）。
- i- u& X# ?8 Z3 [要知道，许多查英汉词典的人，不太再去查EE词典，或许会有人认为，这个形容词没有“可能的”这个含义。
& \: ~0 `' F9 ?/ f! X7 c* S1 A" E4 T
陆老仙的英汉大词典以显著位置给出了“可能的”这个含义。SOED和W3都给出了这个含义。
