8 ^1 f) q$ t: }9 N% n6 {* u有坛友在发帖询问see to it的意思，并说，分开看每个字都认识，但合起来就不知所云。这里我想和大家分享一点个人经验，仅供参考。

学习方法因人而异。有人很擅长记忆信息碎片，而我更擅长逻辑思维。我认为，如果能在信息碎片之间挖掘出某些内在联系，不但能减轻记忆负担，更重要的是，能让人举一反三、事半功倍。

对于习语来说，往往都是从某个意思很具体的说法引申而来。这个在中文里也是一样，比如“卡脖子”和“挖墙脚”应该分别是从斗殴和破坏建筑的行为抽象而来。
# g; }" i4 U6 u! | N! ]7 ^% a: q# C6 d K" G) B% Q
要理解see to it，不妨先从具体的说法see sb to sth开始。它意思是“将某人护送到某个地方”，非常容易理解。
% j/ {) R+ |9 ]) D. o# e @* W7 ?3 o7 k9 `
see sb to sth: To escort or accompany somebody to a place or means of departure.
" q7 M4 u4 X$ A; t0 T1 }- A7 d: x# v7 e7 e$ d% _8 h
-- I'm just going to see our guests to the door; I'll be back shortly.1 U! z/ O1 E/ n# A3 ~8 Z8 N1 c

/ j; j: q- E! [7 _在这基础上的一种简化变异，就是干脆把see的宾语与to的宾语二选一，并将see to作为一个短语动词看待，后面接一个宾语完事，同时意义发生了第一步抽象，成为“照顾、伺候、处理”。这种抽象应该是很自然而然的。" g" C1 j% y3 B8 l: @1 D; q7 p" D

再看有上下文情境的情况：9 _- o" P. t, A7 }; O( G5 f$ C* n

A: "We need someone to organize the store room before our next shipment arrives."0 \+ t# }' C3 e4 S/ d" w r
B: "I'll see to it."1 w; y. D1 {% w+ d i: T' b" C7 T
# g( l+ Q7 f% z( g: c$ U这就是第二次抽象：将see to的宾语置换成一个泛指代词it，意思自然成为了“确保此事”。 D' S; |7 ]! a- k! j/ ^! ]
! z* U4 F x2 Jsee to it: make certain." U4 a0 s- W, I% W+ a0 ?
8 ^5 c- F2 Z: }2 j8 ]0 l7 g如果没有上下文，则要么将it还原成organizing the store room before our next shipment arrives；要么在it之后加一个that引导的同位语从句，明确说明。
# R2 l% ?% V1 p- z* P' `4 O; r2 V1 c1 ~9 o9 k w" q
-- I'll see to it that the store room is organized before our next shipment arrives.6 B0 c$ N9 i& X' ^2 R
-- I want you to see to it that she never comes in here again.

see to it that ... : make certain that ...
