Cancel在这里是什么意思？

最近美国有个喜剧明星Dave Chappelle在他的节目里拿identity politics、LGBTQ等political correctness话题开涮，引起白左们的不满：Critics call to cancel him.
cancel应该是抵制之类的意思，但查英语字典却没有发现直接相关的义项？哪个字典有呢？

这里的 cancel 是新义，类似于国内网友通过"取关"来公开抵制、使对方凉透的操作。近几年流行的 cancel culture，就是指某明星在发表了什么争议性的言论之后粉丝纷纷取关/转黑、大众强烈抵制的现象。

cancel拼错了。这个人在电视台里开了节目，所以是有合同的。要cancel取消废除的是他的合同，不让他的节目继续播放
