the economic problems confronting the country应该如何理解

今天在背考研词汇的时候看到了confront这个词，牛津高阶9的第一个词条就是一个示例词组“the economic problems confronting the country”，对应的翻译是“这个国家所面临的经济问题”。我只依稀记得这很像高中学过的倒装句，但又说不出个所以然，所以想请问论坛里的大佬们，这个词组的语序应该如何理解？

这个不是倒装，只是 confront 这个词的这个义项用法，「the economic problems confronting the country」中主语就是「the economic problems」，像倒装只是你尝试翻成中文（和中文惯常表达顺序不一样），在英文里是可以这样表达的

英文里一般的倒装是谓语的全部或部分跑到主语前面去了。

confront 与face都有这样的用法，如果觉得不适应，就改成定语从句，that the country confronts

感谢大家，经过大家的解答和提醒，我又重新阅读了一遍 confront 在词典中的各个释义，发现牛津高阶9、朗文6和牛津高阶4都对这种用法有解释。其中:

-confront
--牛九：~sb/sth (of problems or a difficult situation 问题或困境) to appear and need to be dealt with by sb 使…无法回避；降临于.
--朗六：if a problem, difficulty etc confronts you, it appears and needs to be dealt with [问题、困难等]临到…头上，使面对.
--牛四：(of a difficulty, etc) face (sb) threatening; oppose (指困难等) 临到 (某人) 头上，面临.

  }/ _5 g# J# N4 m阅读上述解释后，我理解了这应该是 confront 的一个特殊用法，上述解释中也出现了 face，同时我也在 face 的词条中看到了类似的解释:

-face
--牛九：if you face a particular situation, or it faces you, you have to deal with it. 面临，必须面对 (某种情况).
