这句话前半段 “有关突尼斯的迷思……” 和后半段 “愤怒加剧了本阿里权力的被剥夺” 能分别看懂，但中间 “the further” 是什么意思呢？! `2 \% O' d) D3 K% o
crumble可能是及物或不及物，不过前半句来看，似乎crumble的是myths，而不是myths把什么东西给crumble了。
' `# c1 F7 Q3 |1 p) c& K& z后半句来看，drives似乎是one的谓语动词。所以整个句子看起来，我推测 “the further” 有可能是作为连词，也可能是作为 “one drives from ...” 定语从句的中心词；' |+ i& G7 ~0 p! Y* U7 h! q7 l
不过查了一些词典，都没有发现这两种用法之一，而且无论哪种解释都弄不明白句子的意思…… 难不成是one的形容词？也解释不太通啊……

, R' U. I0 G! {7 _句子出自纽约时报，是2004年的，文章说的是特朗普申请 “you're fired” 商标结果因为与 “you're hired” 音近的原因被拒绝了的事。
* E/ G7 M M+ K6 X“…diminishes the further one gets from…” 和 “…crumble the further one drives from…”，结构还蛮类似的，结果两个句子都看不懂了……
' v& C' K, Z# I所以特地求教论坛的各位，帮忙答疑解惑，弄明白这里“further”和整个句子的意思 ????9 `5 G: j1 F; Q

不过我还是没明白第二个例句的意思，能否再讲讲呢？这种类型可以在什么语法书上找到吗？
