一开始的 When people are didactic, they're teaching or instructing.

我觉得应该是 When people ARE BEING didactic, ... 才对吧?
还有第二段的开头也是这个问题

不对啊。你这样改了意思变了啊。这个词本身就通常是negative的。不是当某人或因为某人的行为太像老师时才是negative的

原句意思是: 这个词通常是负面的,指某人的行为太像老师时。

It can be written like this,

if people are didactic, they tend to teach and instruct others a lot, usually unsolicitedly.

But I wouldn't say the original text is wrong. It may be colloquial; that's true.

是不是可以这样理解didactic是形容词一个形容词本身就是表示进行时了所以are being didactic是多余的？
