什么时候用not，什么时候用no？

Sometimes sentences constructed with verb + not and no + noun have similar
meanings. The structure with no is usually more emphatic.

注意到Practical English Usage中的例句都只涉及可数名词，所以才有了not an answer, no answer的结构可以套用。
而朗文例句中的hyperbole 是不可数名词，无法套用了，

用 no 也不算错的，只是意思不同，变得更强调，词典例句是正常语气说话，用不着这么强调
5 J2 ^6 A: g% H2 x. H3 n如果是在跟人争论，对方非说这是 hyperbole，你说这根本不是 hyperbole，就可以用 no

因为这里不是在讲数量，而是单纯的否定。

. p. n. b6 ^  Q8 ?5 E做个简单对比：
It was [a pleasure 可数] to meet you.  否定：It was not [a pleasure] ...
- t' x4 X- Q1 H7 S# ~. NIt is [hyperbole 不可数] to call it...       否定：It is not [hyperbole] ...
