什么时候用not，什么时候用no？

经常说
/ S# i+ y3 b3 |8 vno是形容词，后面不能接冠词(a, the...)
not是副词，后面有冠词

/ ?3 _/ n4 g3 A% z那为什么朗文的这个例句用了not而不是no呢？
It was not hyperbole to call it the worst storm in twenty years

Sometimes sentences constructed with verb + not and no + noun have similar

嗯，你看得很仔细，它这里确实没给不可数名词的例句

书中另一处给了不可数名词的例句，并且再次说了下两者的区别，用 no 属于更强调的语气

We prefer not a/any in objects and complements when the sense is not
emphatic. Compare:
+ x: J7 H, U/ M5 H& }. C5 tHe’s no fool. (= He's not a fool at all. - emphatic negative)
3 C" P3 T8 A0 D! J! W, C7 K; j. SA whale is not a fish, (n o t A whale is no fish - the sense is not emphatic.)

9 o9 w2 K! ^* o: S6 c9 Z! q用 no 也不算错的，只是意思不同，变得更强调，词典例句是正常语气说话，用不着这么强调
如果是在跟人争论，对方非说这是 hyperbole，你说这根本不是 hyperbole，就可以用 no

因为这里不是在讲数量，而是单纯的否定。

做个简单对比：
It was [a pleasure 可数] to meet you.  否定：It was not [a pleasure] ...
It is [hyperbole 不可数] to call it...       否定：It is not [hyperbole] ...

如果真的要用 no hyperbole，可以说 there is no hyperbole in calling it... 注意这里用了there is

渔夫和妖怪

冠词分为定冠词、不定冠词和零冠词，这里就是”零冠词+不可数名词“（not + 零冠词 + hyperbole）
