请教“to be ing”的意思？

短语 “have your nose in a book”，意思我没猜错的话，应该就是看书看得很入迷吧？在剑桥高阶学习词典里的解释是：“to be reading”。

请问 “to be reading” 的意思是 “正在阅读” 吗？为何要加上“to be”？

“to be reading” 难道有看书看得入迷的意思？麻烦各位前辈指点一下语法。

to be doing 是不定式的现在进行时，表示正在看，因为是在有的词典里，是用不定式的形式来解释。用不定式是因为动词不被限定，或者说不被词性变化所局限，能表现动词原形。
