理解成这是字幕式的一句对一句翻译就好，节省空间的不得己措施，英文和中文之间不加标点是不可以的，因为这种语体框的特殊性，有时这里是中文的话，会是个英文单词打头
如果是段落式的，就可以避免这个问题，但例句就得重复两次，例句有时不止一句的
这是深思熟虑的妥协，不是错误
又有个小小不然的发现，朗文为什么不收录aqua这个普通的颜色词呢，倒是收录了aquamarine和cyan这两个词。

这个词或许在朗文的语料库里并不“普通”（常见），COCA 里排名前 60000 的词，没有 aqua ；而 aquamarine、cyan ，排名 30000 左右，已经是很常见很常见的词汇了。当然，语料库不一样，结果可能差异较大，Google aqua 结果就挺多的。

这里 https://corpus.byu.edu/coca/ AQUA 的 FREQ 是 809 ，也不少了。看来这两个站点并不互通，前者数据应该比较陈旧了。
语料库分析的结果，可能会和主观感受尤其是母语非英语学习者的主观感受大相径庭。我们认为的生僻词，在母语人士那里是常用词或者说至少他们都知道，虽然并不用。
不常用的词，并不代表母语人士就不知道。
比如“掩耳盗铃”这个词，我日常生活、工作、写作中，几乎没有遇到过，但是我就是知道它的“来龙去脉”，因为小时候课本里有。
英语词汇肯定也有类似情况，母语人士从小就知道，但是平常并不使用，而非母语人士遇到这类词，可能就抓瞎了。

《朗文高阶英汉双解词典》（旧版，LAAD 双解版）是没有这个句子的，而 LAAD2 采用这个句子，改动了 LDOCE 里的原文，说明 LAAD2 的编辑也觉得这句子本身就有点问题。
具体怎么翻译，还得有足够的上下文啊。要是 I 不需要 get there （比如 you 需要去某个地方做某件事，I 不需要一同前往，但还是建议 you 早点到那儿），那原译“要是你可以早到，我也会尽量早到。”肯定就有问题。要是真的是这么个上下文，会不会说这句话就又是个问题了。

记录下我的思考，不是为了争个对错高低哈。
对比下 LAAD2 和 LDOCE5 。
LAAD2（2007） » I would get there early, if you can. 要是你可以早到，我也会早到的。（2000 年第一版 LAAD 并没有这个例句，从时间判断，这个句子是改编自 LDOCE 的）
LDOCE4/5（2003、2009） » I’d try to get there early if you can. 要是你可以早到，我也会尽量早到。
LDOCE 多了 try to ，直觉上讲，假如 you 可以早到，接下来要说的就是 I 也可以、必须、应该、肯定、坚决地要早到，你早到了我再晚到有点不太好吧，而不单单是 try to （尽量）早到。你都早到了，我还只是尽量早到，那这个你早到，有什么意义？
LDOCE 里的 would 以及 try to ，其实让我倾向于 I 有不去的可能性，为什么呢？假如我要去的话，我倾向于这样说：
- I will/can/would/could get there early if you can/could. 也就是如 LAAD2 那样，去掉 try to 。
就算用 try to ，因为已经假设我肯定是要去的，我倾向于用 I will try to 而不是 I would try to 。
LDOCE » I’d try to get there early if you can. 要是你可以早到，我也会尽量早到。
完整的表达可能就是：If I were you, and if I（= you）can get there early, I（= you） would (try to) get there early. （我是你的话，我能早到就尽量早到。）
当然，这句子上下文到底如何，是不是编辑自己造的，就不得而知了。

嘿嘿，所以译者可能并不知道 be over the limit 是〔驾驶〕饮酒过量的意思，想当然地就译为“超速”。
但是误打误撞地，OED3 还真收录了这个意思。
朗文另有 20 余处“超速”，大都是 speeding 、exceed the speed limit，有一个 over the speed limit ，只有 lose 条的“超速”对应 over the limit ，想来确实是译错了。
